Forth Primary School

Forth Primary School

Forth Primary School is situated in the picturesque surrounds of the Forth Valley. The history of the school is richly intertwined with the history of the local area. The school has strong community links which date back to its establishment. The original Forth State School opened in 1867 and was situated on Mackillop Hill. The school transferred to its present site in 1937 and consisted of two classrooms with 50 students in each classroom. A new purpose built Kindergarten building is due to be completed early 2019.

Our 150th Year (Sesquicentenary) celebrations were held in 2017, reconnecting our school with past pupils and our community.

Forth Primary School underwent a major redevelopment in 2001 with additional new buildings completed at the end of 2006 and in 2010 a unique Performing Arts Centre (PAC) was completed.

The school’s expert teaching team maintain a strong focus on improving student learning outcomes in all curriculum areas, whilst maintaining tradition like daily ringing of the school bell in the bell tower.  Our school offers most of the programs offered in larger schools, whilst still retaining the ‘family atmosphere’ and the benefits of a smaller school.

There are many opportunities for parents/carers to become further involved in the school, either through Parent/Carer Help, School Association and committees. The annual Forth Primary School Fair is renowned for its significant success which illustrates perfectly how our school and community work together to provide an enriching and engaging learning environment. Funds raised have contributed substantially to provide playground equipment, innovative programs,  extended learning opportunities and the purchase of classroom materials and equipment.
